Safety Guidelines

Last updated: [Last updated date]

This page is provided for general platform information and is not legal advice.

These guidelines help customers and providers stay safe on SkillsNest. They are general advice, not a guarantee of any specific outcome.

For customers

  • Verify the provider's identity, business details, and contact information before hiring.
  • Ask for a written quote covering scope, price, materials, and timelines.
  • Where relevant, check licences, permits, and insurance.
  • Be cautious with large advance payments. Prefer staged or milestone-based payments where possible.
  • Agree meeting places and site access in a way you are comfortable with.
  • Keep communication and quotes on the platform where possible so we can help if something goes wrong.

For providers

  • Confirm the site address and scope in writing before starting.
  • Do not share sensitive personal information beyond what a customer reasonably needs.
  • Follow safe work practices for your trade.
  • Keep records of quotes, invoices, and completed work.
